We are thrilled to announce our Keynote Speaker for the CCARP Conference on Tuesday, January 19!
Dr. Christina Villarreal, or Dr. V, spent nearly a decade teaching and learning with the youth of East Oakland, where she taught middle school social studies at Elmhurst and served as an assistant principal at Castlemont. Currently, she is the Director of the Teacher Education Program and a professor of Ethnic Studies & Education at Harvard. As a Bay Area native, she is excited to be returning to her Oakland roots and visiting ARISE to share her story with you next week!
We are SO excited for you to learn about her incredible journey of fighting for educational equity. She is a true Warrior Intellectual whose leadership in education has inspired so much change in our schools and communities, and we know her story will inspire you as you begin your own journey of creating change with your CCARP!
