COMMUNITY-BASED LEARNING
Through our enrichment program, advisory lessons, college/career days, and pathways in public health and education, we work with community organizations and industry professionals to offer workshops, internships, certifications, and experiential learning for all ARISE students.
We partner with over 60 organizations to create diverse opportunities for our students:
Real world experiences related to community health and education pathways
Explore interests in design, STEM, music, sports, and service learning
Build connections with a wide range of people and communities
Learn skills related to career success and civic involvement
Every 11th grader participates in a community internship
Every 12th grader completes an industry certification program
+ Industry Certifications:
We offer the following Industry Certifications for students to earn in 11th & 12th grade:
Phlebotomy Technician License
CPR & First Aid Certifications
Mental Health First Aid
Occupational Safety (OSHA-10)
Food Handlers License
+ Internships:
Every 11th grader completes a semester-long internship during school hours, choosing from a range of sites including hospitals, schools, community organizers, homeless shelters, senior centers, law offices, and other sites.

+ College Level Dual Enrollment Classes:
Through our partnership with the Peralta Community College District, we offer college level classes for dual credit with Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College. These classes include:
